Marcia Hart, foundation secretary, has been involved with the Rosa Parks Scholarship Foundation since 1987. In addition to her duties as a board member, Marcia handles most of the administrative functions of the foundation. She helps coordinate the annual luncheon, works with The Detroit News on their annual full-page article featuring the scholarship winners, maintains contact with the Community Foundation of Southeastern Michigan, issues scholarship checks, is the primary contact with the students and universities, and works with the legal counsel and auditing firm on annual reports. Marcia also coordinates the annual mailing and processing of applications, and works with the judges in the selection and notification process. Marcia said that one of her greatest rewards has been to meet Mrs. Parks at the many awards luncheon she attended.

Marcia has worked in various positions at The Detroit News and Detroit Newspapers for over thirty years. She lives in Livonia, Michigan with her husband Bill, and enjoys spending time with her daughter Julie, son Jonathan, and granddaughter Alexa.
